In the context of increasingly stringent food safety requirements, equipping students in related majors with food safety knowledge and practical skills is highly essential, contributing to the development of a high-quality workforce that meets market demands and protects public health.
In response to the Action Month for Food Safety in 2026, Saigon Co.op, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, is organizing a seminar themed: "Ensuring Product Quality and Food Safety in Modern Retail Models."
The seminar serves as an opportunity to bridge the gap among the university, enterprises, and regulatory authorities, helping students better understand the demands of the labor market as well as the role of quality assurance and food safety operations within modern distribution systems.

The seminar agenda centers around the following key topics:
- Topic 1: Introduction to the Law on Product and Goods Quality and the role of metrology in the field of food safety – presented by Mr. Do Vu Khoa (Deputy Director of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality) and Mr. Tran Anh Thuc (Deputy Head of the Metrology Management Division, Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality – Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology).
- Topic 2: Scientific foundations in quality management and food safety – presented by Dr. Huynh Tien Dat (Lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry).
- Topic 3: Product quality assurance and food safety and hygiene operations in modern retail models – presented by Mr. Do Quang Tien (Deputy Director of the Quality Management Department, Saigon Co.op).
