The 5th Food Safety Colloquium
On the morning of May 6, 2024, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology (CEFT) at Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security at Putra University, Malaysia (ITAFOS), hosted the 5th Food Safety Colloquium(FOSMOB) in Room 303 of the Thien Ly Building. The event drew the attendance of 24 delegates from partner institutions, as well as over 100 faculty members, postgraduate, and undergraduate students of CEFT.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kha Chan Tuyen, Vice Dean of the CEFT, delivered the opening remarks at the colloquiumand provided an overview of the university as well as the faculty to the foreign delegates.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Khaizura Mahmud @ Ab Rashid, representing the delegation from Putra University, Malaysia, also delivered remarks. She mentioned that the FOSMOB program has been successfully organized four times in different countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and for the fifth time, in our beautiful Vietnam.
The colloquium presented research findings in both oral and poster formats, featuring over 17 reports on various areas related to food safety. This platform facilitated the enhancement of students' and researchers' skills in presenting research results and fostering international interaction.
For faculty members, this event provided an opportunity for future international collaboration. The delegation also visited the research facilities at CEFT. It is hoped that such colloquiums will continue in the future to cultivate high-quality graduates in the field of food technology.
