On the morning of April 6th, 2023, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology at Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City collaborated with CJ Food & Nutrition Tech to successfully organize a seminar with the theme "Discovering the Secrets of Umami: The Key to Increasing the Sweetness of Food".
CJ is a conglomerate based in South Korea that operates in various fields, divided into four main groups: food and food service; biotechnology; logistics; and entertainment. As its name suggests, CJ Food & Nutrition Tech operates in the food industry, aiming to provide nutrition and promote healthy eating habits through the application of advanced technology. Currently, CJ FNT is a global supplier of food ingredients, with the largest market share being in flavor enhancers.
The seminar was attended by esteemed professors and distinguished guests, including:
-        On the faculty side: Associate Professor Dr. Kha Chan Tuyen, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Food Technology.
-        On the corporate side (CJ FNT South Korea), there were representatives from:
o   Mr. Shin Kwon Huek - Asia-Pacific Business Director;
o   Mr. Keung Ji Huyn - Business Manager;
o   Ms. Nguyen Thi Tram Anh - Business Manager;
o   Ms. Che Dinh Bich Uyen - Technical Manager; 
o   Ms. Le Nguyen Minh Thu - Marketing Manager.
The seminar attracted the participation of more than 150 students both within and outside the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Food Technology. The students had the opportunity to listen and learn about CJ Food & Nutrition Tech, as well as gain additional knowledge related to market trends in the Food Technology industry in the near future.
During the event, the students also had the opportunity to listen to the sharing of Ms. Che Dinh Bich Uyen, the technical manager of the company, regarding knowledge related to flavor enhancers such as IMP, GMP, I+G, etc. They also had the chance to directly evaluate samples and learn how to recognize and distinguish between these different groups of flavor enhancers
Moreover, through answering questions, the students had the opportunity to receive many meaningful gifts from the company.
Representing the faculty leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Kha Chan Tuyen expressed his gratitude to CJ Food & Nutrition Tech for providing opportunities for students to acquire many useful insights. He also hoped that students would continue to enthusiastically welcome and support future seminars.
